I think the best way to do that is:
1. Create a folder on a hard drive with enough space. 2. Mount an empty Vista WIM into that folder. 3. Subst this folder to X:, Y:, etc. 4. Apply the Longhorn WIM to X:, Y:... 5. Unmount commit the Vista WIM.

This makes the most sense. In fact, I'd have to say that this is the only REAL way to accomplish this. That said, you'd still need to do this with all versions of LH you want, then with the set of WIM's you've created, append those images to a single WIM that contains all the images. The only issue I can think of is that since each binary is different, there won't be much in the way of de-duplication-based compression.

If you are going to turn on the machine or virtual machine, let Windows XP or whatever turn on, open my computer, click on the CD drive, and double-click on the Longhorn build installer you want, then that's possible
But if you want to boot the computer from the disk - even if it's a physical computer or virtual machine - forget about it. The computer won't be able to boot up from the disk.
