The HD 4XXX series is pretty cheap and crapy, you know... But what can you do. :(

Anyway, here's my WEI from 8 RP on the laptop, please note that due to lack of driver support for the Radeon, I'm using Intel HD Graphics (*cough* crap *cough*) hence the lower score.

My SSD changes from 7.8 to 7.9 between installs for whatever reason, but it does the job :p

After my latest upgrade, so close:

If only it took into account multiple GPUs, rather than just returning the score of my first 6850 :(

Crank that CPU up to 4GHz+ and you`ll probably hit the 7.9

Also what drivers are you running for the 6850s ? and are they OC'd for the WEI test ?

Why did you buy the "k" variant if not to overclock?

Actually, I think it's stupid that Microsoft determined the Windows Experience Index by lowest subscore. If you don't have a AMD ATI Radeon HD 7990, it would be impossible to reach above 7. BTW, Windows 8's highest score is 9.9, not 7.9.

Have they changed it for Windows 8?
(I'm running it off a vhd, so I can't do a test).

Not really, when you consider it was originally designed for an easy way to gauge system requirements. An average would have been useless in that case - since having a great CPU doesn't make up for having a crappy video card, for example.

That is a good point. But still, you can get like below 4 just because of a single crapy component, while the rest is at 6 or more. Not that it matters anyway, but you know what I mean...

It only takes a single component to cripple a PC with a painful bottleneck.

A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo.
A big truth also when it comes to computers.

If you ask me they'd better count the harddrive performance out.. My score is now 5,9 just because I'm not using a SSD but a mechanical drive.
All the others are 7 and up :(
