I'm guessing at this stage, the new theme is only in fbl_uex then? Seems very late for something that's not insignificant. I expected it to be in winmain, just disabled.

As far as I know, Windows RT is nothing more than Windows 8 on ARM, even the Win32 subsystem is there though the SDK prevents compiling desktop apps unless you have a certain flag set at compile time.
I mean, if the Win32 subsystem wasn't there, how would stuff like Windows Explorer or Office 2013 run on Windows RT?

Ah ok. Thats good then, so Windows RT just blocks some programs from using the Win32 system, now I get it.

This is an unfortunate fact since it forces the other software vendors to cater to MS.
Regarding Windows 8 the RTM is set for sometime in July. That is the actual build month however not the release month meaning its built just not released to the public so that everyone is ready for it.

I don't see why that even if we can't use the official compilers for WinRT we can't use MinGW. The official compilers may work anyway, I'm not expecting Visual Studio to easily let you mind.

Because Windows RT won't run x86 compiled apps and you can't port any desktop software to Windows RT; the Microsoft C/C++ Compiler won't let you do that.

I know, I meant cross compiling, if it runs Office and other native applications, unless they added some stupid signing scheme, I don't see why we shouldn't be able to make our own PE binaries.
Winmain branch -> winmain_win8rtm branch -> winmain_win8rtm escrow (branch gets stopped and the code is being tested) -> winmain_win8rtm candidate (builds to become 'the final build')

Good job. Starting from 8500 to ... Microsoft is starting to make sense. Continue. I like the concept.
