I'm actually stuck between testing it on a secondary and trying it in VMWare. I think I'm gonna go with Spare PC because I want the best quality/speed as possible.

To be honest, not sure if I'm gonna test W8 or wait until it's actually available. Reasons are that I don't have any spare computers to test it on and I have no clue as to what the other stuff is or how to set it up. More than likely I'm just going to wait it out and buy one with W8, seeing as it'll be about time for me to go college computer-shopping.

Installing Windows 8 is mostly the same as installing Windows Vista or Windows 7. Also, if you can't install it on a spare system, you should try installing it within a virtual machine.

I actually was just going to Install the developer preview the other day... I plugged in the VGA cable to my other monitor to the spare computer and what happend? The VGA port is busted and when I take a glance at the monitor, all I see is lines. I was even going to put Win7 on that thing for my mom because that PC was running Vista Basic.

9 years old?? How well is it running? Also, with you doing that, do you think I can run Developer Preview on a Dell 2005 GTX 270 with a Pentium 4?
Also, I love your signature, I agree!
Pentium 4? Definately, try it! Mine has a Pentium 4 @2.44GHz and 768MB RAM. It even boots in less than 20 seconds! Ofcourse it runs slow and laggy, but for 768MB RAM it's doing pretty well. It even has Aero Glass without the proper video drivers. Strangely enough Metro is slower than Aero (Thx, hate the new logo )

Because it's rendering Aero and Metro in software. Aero and Metro will run with just the default graphics drivers, but it's having to render everything in software, leading to some noticeable performance drops.

Well, performance isn't that bad.. With no programs running, it's only consuming around 300MB RAM. Only when I open Metro-style apps it peaks and that's why I don't spend much time on the Start screen and other Metro places, but when I'm on the internet or doing other desktop stuff, it stays normal. Just shows for me how much progress Microsoft is making when it comes to performance and memory usage.
