Hello everyone I'm new to Betaarchive ... I installed Longhorn Build 4042.lab06 in VMWare Workstation 6.0.0 but, after the virtual machine boots, the login screen shows the "Please Wait" text for over 5 minutes and so it takes a long time to login. I installed VMWare Tools but the problem still remains and the BIOS date is set correctly. I also installed it successfuly on a phisical machine and the problem still persist. What shall I do to solve this annoying problem?

Well I know that almost all longhorn builds are buggy and slow but this problem is present only in build 4042 considering the other builds I tested... ...this build is very nice maybe it's the fastest longhorn build I've ever tested

I installed some other longhorn builds in VMware. Both installation and startup take long time. Just consider that as beta, and it's not for retail, therefore still very buggy & too slow.
I use VMware Workstation 8.0.1, and unable to install VMware Tools.

Take in mind also that it might be slow cause it's in a virtual machine, my Snow leo in VMware take a looooooong time too.
Yeah u r right.. VM is slower than a real PC. Just used 4053 in VMware & a real netbook. The boot to installation in VMware takes a long time, and scroll (status bar) often stucks. Waiting for abt 2--3min the installation begins. Yet in netbook I used self-burnt CD with external DVD driver to boot, and the scroll seems fluent, but never arrives at installation.
Partitioning in VM cost me tens of seconds and during that there's no response in VM. The installation is long and no % indicates the progress, and I have to wait.
Perhaps it's just bcz of the buggy longhorn betas...
