If you use a 32-bit resource hacker make sure to open C:\Windows\SysNative\shsxs.dll.
Opening C:\Windows\System32\shsxs.dll in a 32-bit application will make WOW redirect to the SysWOW64 folder and end up opening the 32-bit shsxs.dll which won't load which could cause those problems.
You may have to manually create the SysNative folder yourself in the Windows folder.

I mean either the files themselves or a step by step guide. I'm bad at graphic editing so have no idea what to edit, what to place where etc.

What's the difference of RPEnabled 0 and 2? I've tried set it to 2 but seems it's the same with 0.
I believe that it allows some specific componentes of the Desktop UI that are dependent on the Immersive UI to work even when the Immersive UI is disabled (or partially disabled). This is just speculation, though. Let's hope they document this Registry entry on their MSDN documentation when the specification is ready

I tried too, no issues, great tip, mate. I like the new Task Manager and was disappointed to not have it without Metro. Thanks.
Glad to know it worked on your side. ^_^
Here's another screenshot for you guys
While the new Windows Defender is much better, since it's basically a rebranded Windows component merged from MSE, they need to improve the engines a lot, because full scans are still very slow!

Thank you SatoMew, I've open the task manager just now and see the difference.

You using the right architecture version? What's not working like Installer etc as it may be that thing that it downloads it rather than having it all locally.
Office 2010 PP works fine for me.

Yes, its the right architechture. It says its only compatable with Vista SP1 and greater, and I do (of course) and it won't work. Office 2007 works fine on it though. Plus, what's PP?

PP = Professional Plus And yes it does, it works wonders and very speedy! In Windows 7 it took a while to start-up and showed the loading screen. Windows 8 = Instant

Professional Plus (aka the *kitchen sink* version of Office 2010).
I have Professional Plus installed - in fact, I used the image-mounting feature to install it (as I have for all my software on images).
If the image supports AutoPlay when burned, it will AutoPlay when merely mounted.
So far, I've used CD images, single-layer and dual-layer DVD images, and I see no reason that BD images wouldn't work.
Another whole utility category made both ubiquitous, and obsolete.

New Windows Defender Threat Alert Dialog
Speaking of Windows Defender, can someone explain why a full scan was taking 8+ hours to complete, while still being a little far from finishing? I had to cancel it because I wasn't expecting it to finish soon!

Hey all, a problem. I had Win7 installed on C:. I installed Windows 8 on another partition. After that, in the GUI Boot Manager, I selected Windows 7 and the system booted into the repair console for windows 7. The drive magically became F: from C:. The repair thing shows Windows 7 (F:) though Windows Explorer of WDP still shows it as C:. What should I do to properly boot into windows 7?

It scanned my Dual core Test rig 'C' drive in about 3 minutes (default scan) Were you scanning all drives, incl storage?
