They likely will I mean all the changes that'll happen. I mean did Windows 7 at PDC look at all the changes we got in the final version. And Windows 8 will have much more considering what it is. Windows 7 is just the pathway between the mistake that was Vista and the brilliance that'll be 8.
Their problem was that they rushed Vista way too fast. At first the project was supposed to be a minor release with not a great emphasis of detail then all of a sudden they postponed it. Then in middle of 2005 they launched "Longhorn" and all of a sudden less than a year later the RTM of Vista is out? A 6 year development cycle is way too long and I think the public started growing impaitent and the folks at Microsoft were like "OH CRAP we gotta throw some [censored] at them..." Let's make Vista. HAHAHA. You can't expect a market share of over 80% running XP for past 6 years to suddenly adapt their hardware to a new OS all of sudden. Vista was so fast you didn't really have enough ample time to fix errors/debug code. One of the common complaints you will often see about Vista is the common security flaws found in the OS...Microsoft actually knew about this and considering its target audience it left it that way by design. Now of all sudden Windows 7 is touting security because they realized that an emphasis on security should never be overlooked, even if you got the reputation of "Windows". Another thing I think Microsoft learned from Vista was that you also got to give vendors enough time to mold their newest technologies around Windows. An example of this would be how the i7 nehaelm processors takes advantage of the way dynamic objects are processed in gaming in 7, vastly improving far steadier frame rates than Vista.

did anyone know how to add/pin apps on start screen like video browsing, pictures, music ??
To pin an app to start screen: move the mouse over the 'windows logo' and something like start menu like appears -> click Search -> scroll down to Apps and click on it -> a full list of app installed will be displayed -> right click on the one you want to pin -> choose pin in the bottom right of the 'option bar'.

Hopefully Microsoft will allow users to select a default logon style during the installation process for their appropriate form factor. For example if you have a touch screen tablet PC then you would select "Metro UI" as default, but if you had a desktop you might select "Classic Desktop" (aka Windows 7 look).
Ummm dude I hope this isn't new news but Windows 8 will have an edition built just for ARM aka Windows 8 ARM (confirmed edition) so my best guess is that the default that being Windows 8 will have the classic UI back.
If the windows arm edition ain't confirmed yet I just confirmed it.
Also while I'm at it there were two editions released well three if you count the developer one at the Build conference.
Microsoft-Windows-Prerelease ARM Edition Microsoft-Windows-Prerelease Edition
I can show you guys all the editions of Windows 8 if you want.

Favourite OS Windows Developer Preview - 8102
Does anyone else love the syncing? I reinstalled from bugs and I love how my pinned tiles returned, my classic desktop wallpaper stayed and eventually more will stay when they fix up the options.

I mean we can't even launch it to scan yet but we should do by Beta at least when we have more apps.
It isn't in the notification area anymore, but you can still launch it: In classic Desktop go to (if it is installed on C when you boot it):
C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe (In the x86 and x64 versions)
Screenshot time:
There are only basic settings like to turn it off/on, history and such, but no planned scanning. And when you can, you only see that number of files scanned, not which ones currently.
But you can plan it a bit with the new ''Automatic Maintenance'' which checks for updates, scanning and system diagnostics, standard it will run at 3.00, and only when you computer is not in use.

Are you sure the one for ARM devices is called Windows 8 ARM Edition officially?

Sure I'm one of them and good to hear it works. Have you pinned a custom app? If yes, have they returned after re-installation? Thank you!

Haha a very funny thing happened with syncing in Windows 8. I had windows 8 build 7989 installed on my pc, already linked with my LiveID, i then installed the developer preview on my laptop. I have a UK keyboard in my laptop and a US on my desktop. Now i changed US to UK on my laptop and now it's also on UK on my desktop while i didn't change anything there (build 7989)

I'm just amazed with the performance... I have a Core i7 and even that lagged on Win7. Now is super fast! Quick AV scan in 33 seconds, boot in 25 etc. Just amazing...

Replaced a resource in the shsxs.dll and the good old orb is back, start menu gone, with Ribbon working.
Still breaks few things, however. New Task Manager won't run, old one will appear after many seconds. Network menu won't appear at all and I can't manage connections from the system icon.
I don't understand why they removed the option to change user picture from classic Control Panel, only from Metro. I changed it manually by replacing user.bmp in ProgramData\Microsoft\User Account Pictures, however it will be applied to all accounts, not just one.

@Andrew Tapferke, you are on the right track, but your answer is not yet complete.
''Classic'' Desktop --> Right click Taskbar --> Task Manager --> Right click on the Apps from the Metro UI (They should have an ''Suspended'' text after it) --> End Task.
