hi. I am pretty busy atm, so I can't update the build list anymore. if anyone wants to continue upgrading it, feel free to pm me.
Well, I have two new build to list for you, in this case, Build 8171 and Build 817x (full build number still to confirm), both of which were confirmed to exist by the BetaArchive Wiki.
Build 8171 is the earliest known Beta (Escrow) build of Windows 8, of which is from December 7th, and of which has the build tag winmain.111207-1624.
Build 817x is yet another Beta (Escrow) build of Windows 8, this time, from December 15th, 2011, not to mention that the build tag for this build is winmain.111215-xxxx. A screenshot of the "Choose your desktop background" has even been released from WinUnleaked.tk:
Note that as confirmed by the BetaArchive Wiki, there are even more screenshots of this build from the same source, however, I have yet to try to locate them.
I'll gladly take over running the list if you want, that is, until you once again have the time to manage it again. I'll keep my close eyes out for anything of which even looks like a potential Windows 8 build, not to mention that I'll list them whenever possible.

So it seems that there was indeed a build of Windows 8, of which was at least shown at CES 2012, contrary to what some people believed.
However, were copies of it (and that includes machines of which happened to be running it) actually handed out to the attendants themselves, or was it kept to those of whom were showing it off themselves? Considering what was already released here from other such conferences, I would be quite interested in knowing if anyone actually received this build from CES 2012.

Cool! Hopefully RTM is 8600?
I love it when people take Windows 7 build numbers and expect them to match up perfectly with Windows 8's various releases. I would doubt that the Windows 8 RTM will be 8600, but no one can say for sure until we get there.

I've heard that for "technichal" reasons RTM build numbers should be able to be divided by 16, and from Vista it is a "convension" that build numbers can be divided by 100 ... so, would RTM be 8800?
