Well, here's to hoping you don't buy an ASRock board. They're terrible.

Have you tried a BIOS update? Perhaps putting the RAM in different slots? Moving PCI cards around, etc?

I did find a 775 board that supported 32GB of RAM once. I don't remember where I found it. Might want to take a look. :P

A good LGA775 motherboard that I've seen is the Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L. Not sure if you can get one in the UK or if you're still looking for one. If you're still looking, that's a good board. Even handles overclocking if that's your thing.
