I back up all the time. Right now I use Acronis Disk Director and just image my drive. Anybody have any suggestions on more simple ways of backing up. It's fine for me but if I didn't have to ever do anything to initiate it, and never worry about it that would be nice.

You should have a backup, your HD might fail, and you could lose a lot of data! :p

I've recently tried a couple of Apps and like fBackup pretty well. It's completely free and easy to schedule backups and use.

I did not do a full systems backup but I saved my whole home directory on my secondary partition, backed up my most important things (htdocs folder, mysql databases, projects and pictures folder) to my external HDD (just 20 GB drive... ) and my work things to my USB stick :)
But I think I'm gonna image my whole hard drive to my 250 GB external drive, but I don't trust this drive (some times does not power up from USB and things)

I perform a full backup once in a while and I also perform daily incremental backups. My main backup media is an external hard drive.

I sometimes use acronis true image, but i deactivated it in the last months cause i copy my really important files to my external hdd, i also save nearly every data (even my cursor shemes) on this.

I am backing up 700GB to an external FireWire drive right now using Microsoft SyncToy. It's been over a month since my last backup and I've encoded a lot of stuff since then. I started out with Windows Backup in Windows 7 last night, but god, is it slow, and I'm a little weary about the restoring aspect of it. :?

While this backs up I think I'll go see MacGruber at the $1.00 theater with the girlfriend.

bah, I have enough of an issue getting the storage space to meet my needs, let alone enough space to maintain a backup.
