What power rating are they (watts) ?
They look mean mo'fo's
I'm not sure about RMS, but they are 150W max power. I drive them with this amp I found at a thrift store for $10, a sonamp 260x3. The amp makes 60W RMS, and it seems to drive them just fine. Apparently the speakers are quite efficient though, because they don't seem to use as much power as most, yet they're massive and can be really loud. I got them for $50 from some guy who was moving.

Real stereo speakers tend to get loud at a little power, I have some 100w rated Denon USC-20F speakers (not so huge but sound great) that I drive with a 60 WPC receiver (Technics SA-GX130) and it has volume numbers 0-20, getting upto 2.5 is insane loudness, I don't think I've ever taken it past 3.5 (or close to like 15 watts) as that is beyond the level your neighbors are happy with.
I've also seen others like some cheap Sony's rated for 100w that take even less power to get just as loud.

As for your main PC, well, let's just say that often, PCs have continued to use the same ATX formfactor for more than a decade now, so I'm not all that surprised, really.
