I have vacationed here 5 years in a row, it may be a bit expensive but it does have world-class waves for surfing.
The waves use to be only ridden by the Tavarua island guests but now its open to anyone w/ a boat, experience & the $$ to indulge (Fiji new Law passed 2 years ago).

Starting next Sunday 6/3/2012 the VOLCOM Fiji Pro is being held at Tavi (for ASP Professional surfers).
It will be held at Cloudbreak or Restaurants (2 major breaks @ Tavi).
