Sorry for the wait. My 21st birthday was on May 9th and i had a vacation and i just got home. But apart form having a great time i also got some cool things i would like to show you.
First up is my new DSLR Camera it's a Nikon D3100 with a VR AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G DX lens and a PNY 32GB SD card.
When I first opened the box i was like NO way its got to be a JOKE! that's like an $800.00 Camera. i about passed out form excitement lol. One heck of an upgrade form my GE 7MP digital camera.
Then i had a small box and i opened it and its was a new phone. I got a White Samsung Note! I had a Palm Pre. I will say the note is a HUGE phone people look at me silly when i make a call on it.
Then i got two interesting LED lamps by Phillips they are called Phillips living colors Gen2 They can make some sick transitions between colors. I looked them up and i guess they don't sell here too well in the US but in the UK they have ceiling lamps that can sync up with them and change. Cool if you ask me.
Then last but not least i got some Blu Ray movies to wrap every thing up. And thats what all i got on my Birth Day it was a great one.

Well i did always tell my uncle i always wanted to take good pics. I'm going to school for Photography so he said i might as well get you a good camera. he said i better treat like a kid lol. The movies came form my sister and the phone form my parent's they had a free upgrade on there line and got me the phone and the LED lamps came from my cousin he is tech savvy and got them on sell on amazon. Also what you said its not what you get its the thought what counts if they could only get me a .25 cent card i would be happy with that.

this is obviously some quite expensive presents you got there, congratulations. but what do you expect from this thread? people are not glad to see, that they always get far less valuable presents.

These are some nice and extremely valuable presents you got there. I never get anything for my birthday, my parents just give me money to go out with friends and have fun on my birthday. But I'm very, very contend with that too

Not a bad camera. The 18-55mm lens might be a setback though if you want to do any far away pictures, you can focus but not zoom (trust me, these things seem to have infinite focus).
Although honestly, I would be happy if someone gave me that camera, it's sure better (and cheaper) to use than a film Rebel .

Those are nice stuff dude. I'm also in to photography and your camera makes mine look like the very first camera. Plus your Phone is better than mine. You should feel lucky.

That 18-55mm should do fine. Just remember to learn about photography properly. I see many people buying D90s or EOS600Ds and they fail to focus and meter properly and use the camera in automatic mode all the time.
I have a Sigma DG Macro 70-300mm and it performs well on my Canon 350D and 400D considering it's price. I imagine Sigma do lenses for Nikon bodies as well as Canons. I'm a Canon man myself but I love using my old Nikon F70 every now and again with some Ilford Black and White 35mm. Develop it digitally on my old Epson GT-7000 with the negative scanner attachment hehe.
