My cat had to be put down today, now he's gone.
So, now I might be on the fourm less, now, due to sadness.

My cat was 15-16 (Human) years old, he got sick so suddenly. (Fine enough in the morning; really bad later; put down the next day) When he was sick, he had: Bad balance, bad front left leg (limping), lips wouldn't shut fully, and a bad eyelid.

My other pet -- dog -- is now 13 years old

My Xwifes cat, that she left to me awhile ago, lost a lot of weight & was dead at my door step one morning.
I got over it quickly.

Just over 2 years ago, our black cat, Riley, had a horrible growth on his neck. We let him live until we could see that he was suffering, and he was put down. I still miss him :'(

He was about 17 and he did [self-censored] all all day cause he was lazy, so he lived a good and long life :)

I had a dog for 14 years, a black Labrador cross bulldog called jet due to being black. One of the nicest dogs I have known. Trained her from a pup. Would never bark, didn't bother anyone (she did go nuts when someone tried to touch the bone we gave her) ner bit anyone, often she would lay down on the road outside my house and wouldn't move and cars would have to drive around her, (wasn't a main road, just a country road on a private country estate so it was ok). Was an excellent sniffer dog, could find things in half the time it took other dogs.

My grandad used to come around and take her for walks all over the place. He died 9 years ago and it was around then when he died, she went downhill. Stopped eating, looked sad and depressed, probably due to missing my grandad and knowing something happened. One day I came home and found her looking a bit skinny with huge sad eyes. That was when we knew no more could be done and had to have her put down, was awful. Sad thinking about it now, but she had a great life which was nice. Sort of a Marley and Me thing we had. Have a new dog now, a collie cross Australian shepherd but he is quite different, very lively, jumpy and a lot of work to look after.

I have lost cats that I have been very close to before. Its hard. Number 1 suggestion: Wait a few weeks then get another Cat. I know its hard but it really does help.
Right now my cat is named Waskt and we are very close it will be hard when He dies. He is my only friend. No one else likes me or wants to be around me because I'm a geek. Sorry that your cat died.

I've had two hamsters die on me. One was owned by our family, who died in his sleep. The other was NOT owned by my family and was looked after during a relative's holiday. The ear was cut off (unknown reason) and she bled until she died :(

I'm afraid my cat is at her final years, she's about 15 human years iirc.

My Rottweiler had to be put down because he had a rare genetic kidney disease that was killing him. He was only about 4 if I remember correctly.

My one cat was 15 when she got hit by a car. She died a few minutes later (my brother was the one who hit her, so we could atleast say goodbye)
My other cat died at 17 just randomly. He had gotten hit by a car a few years before, but lived for a while after.
Our other cat just ran away. And the other cat we had got hit by the mailman.
We've also had a hamster die due to a tumor. Pet store says it's normal.
