Did you try karaoke-ing it?
You'll find some softwares to do that. Audacity might work.
WARNING: In some music, vocals are irremovable.

ps.. i thought it might be the case that you cant remove vocals from what originally was a mono recording,i have created a loop from the song intro but i would prefer to have the whole song with vocals removed.

I can remove the noise without making it sound to terrible. One of the problems is that even the FLAC has been compressed before, you can especially hear it at the end of the song. Also, it's only mono.

These are also mono. I have no idea how to remove vocals unless it's stereo and as old as they are I can't imagine they were even recorded in stereo. There might be some other kind of vocal removal but I don't know how to do it, sorry. I can remove the static though, do you have a copy with more static on the beginning/end or a copy that hasn't been compressed?
