I'm currently refreshing my Win9x install cd-rom. It basically is a merge of the Win95/98SE/ME disks, with things removed, and other things added. For the most part, i retain the same directory structure, because some batch files expect this.
Code:
\WIN95 win95 cd upgrade \WIN98 win98se upgrade \WIN9X winME we use this in MDGx 98se2me update proggie \WIN31 msdos 622 + win311 (both versions). used to validate upgrades + dual boot \DOS71 revised MS-DOS 71 (different) \BIN binary files \PATCHES patches for 0950 + 2222 + 3000 \COPYOVER stuff to copy over ~\RUNME programs to be run on install (eg DLL installers &c) ~\WINDIR copy this into windows directory, also W2222 &c ~\PFILES copy this into program files, also P2222 &c.
For the most part, a few extra things are added (PLUS95/98, RESKIT, alternate drivers, kernel toys and powertoys.
Most of it is set up to allow things to run that install things from other parts of the 95/98/ME disks.
I'm thinking of doing it as a custom OS.
A second disk is roughly layed out, corresponding to 95B + 98FE and an assortment of other things.
