Longhorn: OS dies, but idea lives
Longhorn Linux is a Ubuntu transformation pack, to make the Ubuntu desktop look like the desktop of the cancelled Windows OS, Longhorn. The project is entirely open source and developed by a team of volunteers. The project was started on the 2nd of November 2009 on Joejoe.org, a popular Desktop modification site, by jman6495.

No offence but that just looks like a generic linux distro with Compiz installed. Nothing about it says Longhorn except maybe the start button. But Longhorn wasn't about the start button.

I agree, I have tried this OS before, and really it has nothing with longhorn. EIther the transformation pack did not install right or all I saw was a start button and a few transparent windows.

Also, Longhorn was never "canceled" - Windows Vista is Longhorn. I mean, no offence to maxtorix or anything, but there seem to be a few people who believe that Windows Vista was a new project that replaced Longhorn, yet it was Longhorn all along - "Windows Vista" was just a final name chosen upon the project's entering of Beta 1 stage in July 2005. Yes, the development was reset on August 19th, 2004, but that doesn't proclude being the same project.
