Question is: How to bypass this?

Solution:

From AMD64 folder, open Layout.inf
Make copy of Layout.inf (original file)

In section [Strings] replace these lines:

Quote:

cdname = "Windows XP 64-Bit Edition Version 2003 CD-ROM"
productname = "Windows XP 64-Bit 2003"

with the following:

Quote:

cdname = "Windows XP Professional x64 Edition CD-ROM"
productname = "Windows XP Professional x64 Edition"

and Save changes.

After saving changes, you are freely to customize your Longhorn x64-bit image!

Before creating your bootable image, in AMD64 folder restore your original Layout.inf file.

TCP/IP patch is disabled (gray)
UXTheme patch option is disabled (gray)
SFC (Windows File Protection) patch is disabled (gray)

Already finished files:
Layout.inf - original one, and patched version for editing in nLite;
Setupreg.hiv - Time Bomb removed.

Does that mean LH64 is built on the ia64 platform or are those strings not related?

Not built off as such, More to do with the fact that the only client SKU of the Server branch (from which longhorn was built off) at the time was the ia64 client.
