Had an idea a while back to write a program that loads an image, gets its dimensions and then tells you what aspect ratio it is or is closest to (4:3, 16:9, 16:10). I don't know if any such tools exist (because I haven't looked any up) so I wrote my own. Have some screenshots:
This is a Win32 console app written in Visual C++ 2010. Right now it only supports PNG images, it acts funny when you feed it anything else.
Todo list:
Automatically try to guess the nearest aspect ratio
Add support for JPEG images
Toss in a GUI? (mmm, complexity!)
System requirements:
A PC capable of running VC++ 2010-linked EXEs
Windows Vista or later (It will probably run under Windows XP or older but I give no support for that)

A bit pointless when you think of how easy it is to figure out this info simply by doing Right Click > Properties, but I guess one or two people might find this useful.

Not very useless at all when a programmer is trying to see what they themselves can do with knowledge and a keyboard!
