So why my computer can cause computer freezes and not boot? Here is my results:

- While using Windows XP inside my computer, it will causes BSOD or freeze while reading/writing the data.
- While the computer boots, the BIOS will beep longer 3 times and repeatable until the computer did not boot.
- Booting from CD, inserting the external HD, and anything can also cause freeze/hang to my computer.

I don't know what this happens, it was caused by the old motherboard, broken hard disk, bad memory or graphic card. This motherboard was purchased in 2004 and some problems will be affected anytime as of 2011.

What BIOS is on the motherboard. If it's beeping the beep codes will tell us the problem.

I also would check the IDE and\or SATA cables to make sure they're in all the way.

MSI VClass with RAID adapter, it was powered by Energy Star. It has two hard drives, one for IDE and one for RAID.

So here is the story why my computer went kaputt: Last Sunday, I was inserted the earphones for mobile phone into the sound card until my sister came to play. The system freezes at 11.22 p.m. and on the next day, my father is scolded to me.

Energy Star just means that is a low power board. The BIOS will be either Phoenix, Award or American Megatrends (AMI). MSI V-Class isn't a model number either.

If it was working until you removed the head phones then try to remove the sound card if it isn't integrated and if it is disable it in the BIOS.

It may be a problem with power supply. Check voltages in "Hardware Monitor" of BIOS.

The BIOS used for my computer is AMI BIOS. Starting the computer will not show the BIOS, instead it will freeze completely before BIOS starts, disabling keyboard, mouse, and more and to power down require longer push of the power button than short push. The power supply has no problems, only the problem is motherboard.

Try leaving only one ram module in it and try. If that fails pull it and install the other one and try. It could very easily be bad ram.

It's not caused by the ram, it was caused by the bad motherboard.

Yeah. These problems always caused by one of these:

1- Motherboard Voltage Failure
2- Dead Processor.

Well, it was resolved, only I cannot use the computer more than 3 hours, or the computer will freeze because I have changed the graphic card (GeForce 6200, I don't have modern one)

Only 3 Hours? It's too bad :(
What about buying an Fan for the Graphics Card? It may become overheat so that it halts your computer.

I've got the same graphics card for years on an old PC, doesn't overheat like that, it's a pretty cool (cold) card. ;)

I have an idea that causing computer to freezes because of motherboard. The motherboard is too old to operate and it may have greater chances for freezing the computer (no disk/memory activity and locks screen).

I was upset now, now I don't have a laptop (it was broken since January), my computer has many causes to freeze, and I don't have money to buy new computers.
