A while back in March of 2011, I was working on a small project known as Management Console. In April, no more updates were released, and I abandoned it. But now, I restarted work on it, and now have a decent version out for preview! Management Console (Now known as SimpleShell) is a lightweight, easy to use, free shell for MS-DOS 5.x - 6.x. The disk included is bootable, simply load it, boot your VM or real machine, read the ReadMe if you really want to, and press Any key to load SimpleShell. Type HELP to view commands and ABOUT to view about info.

I assume you're using QuickBASIC again? What do the error codes mean, are they numbers returned from ERR?
Yes, they are. I will attempt to make it simpler in the future by giving a description of the error encountered. Right now the error code is for developer use

Maybe he's just building it for fun. Why not? Not every project has to have a purpose. Patrick, I'll dl it and tell you if I run into anything weird.

Ok first off, in case you haven't noticed it's an Alpha, development has only recently started and he may exhibit more features including File Management at a later time. Second off, It's not an Operating System, it's not suppost to be compared to one, that's like me comparing a drill bit to a drill. They're not the same.

Keep us updated, once this has advanced a bit more I would love to have a play with it.
I will! 0.41 is now a stable build, with file managing capabilities and a new and improved Calculator I will release another preview this week, hopefully when the TicTacToe application is fixed
EDIT : Here's a pic of the file managing capabilities

Well, maybe it can be considered a replacement for COMMAND.COM...
