Is it possible to get Internet Explorer 9 to run on Windows 7 RC build 7100?
When I tried to extract it, it gives me folders like there are in winsxs.

I've tried to install IE9 on several builds of Windows 7 (including the RTM, which is 16384 instead of 16385 in the version number), but it always returns an error that IE9 can't be installed. My guess is that to install it on 7100 you'd need to modify the install files.

16384 was the original RTM build, but was replaced by 16385 due to a severe bug... So the later is the real RTM build.

(shrugs) Maybe that explains why IE9 wouldn't install then. In any case, it's the one I had and the one I tried.

Where do you want to go today?

All Microsoft operating systems!
If you ask me, you should ask maxtorix, since he's the one of whom knows how to install certain updates on earlier versions of Windows, as he has done already. I'm sure he would be glad to help you out.
