There's actually a lot of free stuff available. What kinds of stuff is this thread supposed to be on? Eg. commons ones like Firefox, Paint.net, Orbit, VLC Media Player etc.
If your a student you can get some free stuff from Mircrosoft: http://www.dreamspark.com Stuff available there includes Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional, Windows Server 2008 , Windows Server 2008 RC2 etc. All with product codes included and completely free and legal.

I used to have starter on my netbook (before I got 2010 on main and transferred 2007 onto the netbook). Main problem is ads, but there are several restrictions too, which is why I would pay for office.
Haa... Microsoft discovered the trick and deleted it.
In theory, those EXES should not be there. Office 2010 Starter is not free at all, it is limited so only OEM partners can distribute it.
Casually, someone found that Microsoft was hosting the exes there, and published the links.
I could upload the exes, but that might be illegal, so better you think this does not work anymore and download Kingsoft Office...

Haven't tried it yet myself, might only be instructions for how to deploy, rather than the actual thing.
BTW. Is Kingsoft Office any better than Open Office?
EDIT2: At 3.7GB I am quite confident it is the whole thing, but its locked behind passwords, so much for that then (unless your an OEM partner).
1. The link is the OEM Preinstallation Kit for Office. Only OEM partners can download it, and they must pay (I think 3$ for each setup) 2. Of course it is! It is really better, works as Office 2003 and is compatible with Kingsoft documents, Office documents, and OpenXML.
I lost en-US backup, but if anyone wants Office Starter Spanish version, contact me via PM.

Took a look at Kingsoft Office. Looks like a bad MS Office ripoff. I'll stick to LibreOffice, which can be found here: http://www.libreoffice.org It's fast, simple, and is compatible with every document I've ever heard of (including all MS Office document types back to Windows 95) and several I haven't.

Here are some things I can contribute:
VLC Media Player: A media player that is better than Windows Media Player, because it plays faster, runs and starts faster, better quality and better sound and does not blink when in full screen like in Windows Media Player.
nLite: Hate your current Windows XP Installer because when you install it, it will contain bloatware from MS that you don't even need, then get nLite. You can trim your Windows XP installation, you can remove the bloatware from your XP installation, and as a bonus, you can even add your software of your personal choice to the installer and even add themes and more. There is no stopping you to trim and customize your Windows XP installer, why wait, download now.
vLite: Have a Windows Vista installer and a crap PC that is too slow to run Vista, don't worry about that, with vLite, you don't have to spend a lot of $$$ for hardware upgrades that you will do over and over again until you find the right choice, you can trim your Vista installation to your specific needs. You don't have to worry about crashing or slow downs anymore because you have vLite to trim that Vista installation. You can even remove those typing of stuff in the installation because you can use unattended installation. (Note: All of this requires Windows AIK, but there's plenty of hacks out there to never need Windows AIK.)

If anyone wrote a simplified guide on how to install it and set it up, I would give it a try. I have tried to install it...but failed miserably
I might be able to help you out.. Yeah, there is a need of a simplified guide on how to install it and set it up, and I will try to make one these days. If you really want an easy install, you could just try ArchBang which is Arch Linux with OpenBox, and SLiM desktop manager, and it has its' own customised installer script.
But ArchBang is basically ArchLinux with few additional packages in the base install. It still uses Arch Linux' default repositories.

You're site Kelton2, doesn't inspire confidence in me, for first, it is hosted on a free webhots and second looks more like childrens site then a professional one.

I have to agree with Rob here.
Changing the theme and paying for premium won't reduce the hate much. Make a site yourself and host it somewhere good. Also, Your website won't have a massive content delivery network behind it like the ones Rob posted.
