Favourite OS Windows 98SE (Build 2222)
Contrary to popular belief, Windows 1.0x can be run under MS-DOS 6
To run Windows 1.0x under MS-DOS 6, all you need to do is:
0. install MS-DOS 6 and Windows 1.0 (any version)
1. type "setver WIN100.BIN 3.30"
2. make sure that "device=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE" is in your config.sys
3. reboot your system
now you can run Windows 1.0x in MS-DOS 6!
note: I have only tested this with MS-DOS 6.22, so I am not sure if this works with all variants of MS-DOS 6.
If you're wondering how I figured this out, it's because Windows 2.0 has a similar issue if setver isn't loaded and WIN200.BIN is in the default setver version table
