Hmm, FileZilla doesn't have a FTPS option! What do I do?

If FileZilla didn't have an FTPS option, why would I have used it in the tutorial? What version of FileZilla are you using?

An excellent Tutorial. Very clear and well laid out. Can I just make one suggestion, and that is once you have set everything up that you check everything is working correctly on your end (file being downloaded and saved to your desired directory) by downloading a small file (it doesn't matter which one) as it might save frustration later?

There are a number of FTP clients that you can use, and if you are familiar with an alternative to Filezilla you can use that instead. The only criteria being is that you set up the required parameters in the appropriate locations in your client's interface (see its documentation for details). I would strongly recommend that you test everything when you have set it up to make sure that it is working correctly.

I use Filezilla and ix for webhosting and I love the combination. Everything works so smooth its scary

I see the screenshots are using an outdated build of filezilla though (3.3) I'm using 3.5.1, should you update that or is it not too important?

The Setup screenshots are from FileZilla 3.3; most of the program screenshots are from FileZilla 3.5.

The only image out of date is by Step 13.
The rest is fine as it is.

I tried with FlashFXP and it works well, it has merely the same Site Manager.

It's the same process for connect to a svn server ?

SVN is a completely different technology, so no. Go and look up how SVN works, and download tortoise SVN client.
