It makes the mind boggle a little! What a highly detailed tutorial hat is. With the current, average space on a hard disk, one wonders why anyone would wish to actually disable IE? (4mbs) Just ignore it. delete it from the Start menu if you realy want to forget it.

Internet Explorer is not removed completely after this "tutorial". You remove only the "exe" file from IE because other files needed for Windows' explorer.

correct. Only the hardlinks to C:\program files\internet explorer are deleted. The files are still in the WinSxS folder

Even if you could remove IE completely, youd find that you actually need it, even if you use firefox, etc all the time. Many windows softwares use IE as a rendering engine for various things, many help windows in programs are running IE.
In Windows FLP which is supposed to have no IE6 included, all you have to do is type a website into windows explorer and it becomes an IE window, since with 98-XP, Windows Explorer was basically a carbon copy of IE.

But why would you do all the hassle to remove IE? I mean, there are non IE containing versions of windows vista and 7. And if you don't use it, it wont run and it won't mean a leak right?
