That depends. If your main desktop is an old Pentium II, sure, Windows 98 is an age appropriate OS. For the record, I did say that you must be joking if you're still using Windows XP on new PCs.
While I try to keep my systems running the absolute latest version of Windows, I do still have some systems running Windows 2000 simply because said systems can't run NT6.

So here's the desktop of an old Pentium II machine I've got kicking around: Ironically, this system doesn't have a sound card. And no, it's not 1:36 AM; the clock is set wrong and I can't be bothered to fix it.

What about multiboot? I had Windows 7 and Windows XP. Why? Theme Park World and Office 2003 sucks on Windows 7. I have XP on my old 2008 Compaq because its the Windows OS that crashes the least on me, even when gaming.

I'm guessing you got OS X working!
Guessing from the fact you don't have a transparent bar and there's no Launchpad, you're running OS X Snow Leopard and you need graphics kexts/DSDT.
Also anyone with a Leopard/SL DVD: Could you see if you could extract the newer speech voices from the DVD? (they're installed via packages, use a program like Pacifist to get into them.)
Desktop changed... xD I got into Rayman again, Rayman Origins is an awesome game.
