That is a policy from school ...
yeah ours were completely locked down. couldn't even run .exe files or execute anything. Our internet was no better, had the most intense blocking scheme i have ever seen. Blame Bucks County Council for that one! Didn't have access to even google images. that bad.

Well how about finding any pictures for like homework and work and publisher posters and the like? But all social networks obviously were blocked along with all video sites like youtube, vimeo, google video, proxy sites, bbc games, any other games sites, forums, any sites which had funny humour, basically tonnes.

Well, those 2 things can easily be fixed, just hack the BIOS password (if any) and install XP, and you can also get a 3G internet thingy.
and done, you can watch all the por* you want, and go on facebook and miniclip

Well we found the bios password was "rm" lol, i wasn't gonna try to reinstall windows with their computers probably would have got chucked out. As for the 3g, no .exe files worked sooo that would have been no use.

That's not 100% true. Ok, the part of the BIOS password and install then an OS is correct, but it's not 100% sure that you then go to every site. It's maybe possible that there is an device before the gateway (e.g. forefront) that blocks the sites ...

@jamieostrich: we have the same background.
Yeah, I knew that because I have the same model (except it's white) and I know that the default configuration comes with 2 GB. It's nice to have it upgraded before actually getting it. How much extra money did you pay for the upgrade?
