Hello guys,

Some time ago I made a program in VB 2010, recently my HDD thought it was being funny and crashed so I lost all my recent project files (only got some from very early programming stage). The only thing I have left is a compiled .exe (for download at http://www.netvos.weebly.com).

Are there any ways to get *.vb forms out of this again or at least any things that could be used for (re)programming a new version of this program?!

Thank you

You can dump the whole VB using something like Reflector

I did take a look at dumping it with Reflector, but it doesn't distinguish between compiler-generated code and your own code for Windows Forms, so rather than the *.designer.vb+*.vb you had originally, you get one .vb with the code merged together. The Compiler Generated code does have the correct Attributes though, so you could always split it up again manually with some care.

Hm I could try that, but I'm not sure I'm skilled enough to split those files.. ^^
At least not everything is lost!

EDIT: Just decompiled the .exe back to .vb files with Reflector. I've tried to split the code in designer.vb and 'formname'.vb , but the designer code seems invalid or so... I compared the designer I made manually with the ones from an earlier stage and they are very different, seems I miss alot of code?!
