I'm trying to create this game in metro for windows 8. I have most of the game logic down, but I can't seem to nail the clickable regions. In the flash version, you can click any of the regions and it will bring up a little information screen. I know how to bring up the info screen.


The question is: Is it possible to recreate the world map in xaml, and have each region be clickable. also, I would have to be able to change the color of each region individually so that the game would play as similarly to the flash game as possible.

I'm just trying to see if it is possible.

I'm using C#.

Yes, it is possible.

XAML allows you to create custom shapes using Paths. I believe Expression Design can export Vectors to a premade XAML file, though it only does WPF and Silverlight in the current version, so it might need some converting.

The basic syntax (for WPF, but they're the same for the revelant parts) is here

So I could create custom shaped buttons that would allow me to change the forecolor? I hope i would be able to fit them together seamlessly. The biggest problem now is finding out how to do it with blend. I don't have expression design. I only have CS5.5 and Blend 2012 RC.


What sucks is that Microsoft has a guide for custom buttons with Blend, but their video refuses to play.
