So basically, I have the 2wire 2701hg-g from Bell. No problems with it, except this.

When I go on the web with its Wi-Fi feature, it stops working after a few seconds which is REALLY ticking me off.
Somebody please give me a solution! Now I hate Bell even more

P.S. I also have a router that isn't connected to the modem and is always kept on. Is that somehow interfering with the modem?

So, you've got...
A 2wire 2701hg-g wireless router.

Our problem is...
When you get on the web, it stops working.

When you say "it stops working", what is "IT"?
The browser on your computer or mobile device quits unexpectedly?
Or the router shuts off?
Or the page doesn't load and you get a "cannot display the webpage" message?

Here are a few things to try if I don't reply this evening:
-Make sure all of your OS and browser software are up to date. (Can help if need be)
-If you are connecting wirelessly, there is an off chance it is automatically connecting to the router you aforementioned that is ---NOT connected to your modem. (I would reccomend unplugging any unnecessary hardware. 1. To save electricity and $$$, and 2. so that it does not have a chance of interfering with our setup.)

Also, depending on what the problem might be, you may want to see if this issue is isolated to one computer or device. If its happening on your phone, try with a different phone or computer. If on a computer, same rules apply, try on a different computer or phone.

Can you test it with another device (e.g. another laptop, smartphone, etc.)?

call ma bell and ask for a replacement... i done that 2x

If its a Bell issued router they should support it if you are having issues. I know Time Warner here in the states is pretty good at resolving issues with faulty hardware when it's their issued hardware. They usually will swap it out for you and make sure it works before they leave. Or they may be able to get your router working if its just a software/communication issue.
