I prefer SuseStudio. It's always free, and you don't always need to rebuild after a week, because of the fact that they may not delete it off their server.

I don't have that much experience with the former but I don't think it makes that much sense to pay for something when SUSE Studio is completely free and works wonderfully.

First of all, (last I cheked,) you have to wait to get a membership for SuseStudio. With Reconstructor, you can automatically get one

Now, it's not a matter of paying for Reconstructor. It's a matter of, the more money you put into your account, the more times you can use certain features. To use a certain feature gets rid of more money than another certain feature. And for some of those features, that amount depends on stuff like gigabytes. Last I checked you start with a free $5 in credit anyways.

But, yeah, you don't actually pay for the program. In fact, it used to be completely free. There were even days when it was a download, (& those days were still in the days when it was completely free,) instead of being web-based, & last I checked, the creator(s) of the program were hosting it on the site.

...Of course, it looks like the site is now down for maintenence, (which, last I checked, rarely happens,) to bring what seems to be an overhaul or something, so, yeah...

But the actual url where you make the derivatives seems to be still up:

https://build.reconstructor.org/

NOTE: Only works with non-IE browsers, & IE 8, (probably IE 9 too, but note that it's not supposed to run or something as good,) & I don't think you can get the old version downloads from this url, just another extension of the seems to be down for maintence official site.

Yeah, that was frustrating but I got an account within one day or two so that's really not a problem.

I always go for Novell when making new OS's.
