How did you make it so it had that linux-like start up screen and the pre-setup?
For the Mini Setup, Sysprep run as "sysprep -mini -reseal" For the linux like startup screen, I used NTOSDrop CE as it has verbosity enabled by default.

it is possible to enable boot screen with support for high-resolution bitmap? And you will bear the staggering of icons, one of the features of the systems 6.x?
Edit: If it can enable support for high resolution at boot screen, how can I do on server 2003 sp2?

For the first one, I don't exactly know if I can. For the second question, what exactly do you mean?

I'm very new here, but i'm definitely up for testing it out, it actually looks to be very nice. If you need additional assistance with the development portion of the project, hit me up as well.

Wow, my XP Pro key will not work on Longhorn X. I may need help.
You need an SP2 key or higher. Try the unattend key, or, if you're running XP already, use KeyViewXP to see your current key and use it.
How? I am stuck @ entering a key at setup.

You need to use a retail key. The MR49R key on the internet won't work as that is a volume license key. Retail key is attained by purchasing XP from the store, or by using a key from TechNet/MSDN. OEM keys may or may not be retail keys.

Er... it works just fine when I do it. It looks like the problem was caused by RDPWD.sys (if I'm reading it correctly, the RDP Terminal Stack Driver). Do you have RDP enabled in the VM? Also, are you using Virtual PC or VirtualBox/VMware? If you're not using Virtual PC, try switching to it. If you're using Windows 7 Professional/Ultimate/Enterprise, use Windows Virtual PC instead. It's now available for computers without hardware virtualization. I forgot to remove the Virtual PC drivers before packing that build so that may be why.

Is there any way to remove the drivers manually? I can map the drive if I want so I can get to the files.

Thanks for the VHD. Its smooth, works a dream and has all i was wanting in a longhorn-style custom os. One suggestion if possible: Is it possible to control the truetransparency though the control panel? First to remove the tray icon and to also maybe make it possible to make a layer which users can change the colour of to make the glass have a different colour, much like the aero in vista and 7.
That's a TrueTransparency bug and is not something I can readily fix without source code for it. You'll have to report that to the TrueTransparency team.
