I don't know if it's been mentioned but will you give a shot at getting SATA to work, if not don't feel bad, then again IDE mode and install the SATA drivers and turn it off, but all those risks

I may be having a breakthrough with the HDA fix guys, it seems i've gotten the components to install and run without error...now I just need a laptop to try it on...
I do recall 'fixing' it on 3718 as part of protoPlex (though the fix never got released, it was a simple modification of the Realtek HDA Infs). While it worked, the sound quality was bloody awful iirc.
So far what i've tried to do is install the Microsoft UAA update. It seems Longhorn won't let HDA drivers install without it. Now that the patch seems to have worked, i'm going to try a HDA driver install and see how that goes...

I'll try. My laptop has SATA but even with IDE mode the LH installer won't boot on it, and all the other IDE computers I have have died over the years. Therefore, I may still be able to make it, but I won't be able to test it on a real PC... I guess that's what testers are for
For now, I'm thinking of using the default Windows PE 3 background with the Longhorn SE logo plastered on it. However, if someone could make a background with the "Brushed Metal Windows Logo" that reelfiles posted, go for it If you do, it'd be nice to have the logo in the bottom right corner as in other corners controls on the installer would overlap it.
Which address are we going to use? longhornse.co.cc or longhornse.comyr.com
I can get longhornse.comyr.com to redirect to longhornse.co.cc
We'll be using longhornse.co.cc until I get the money to buy a domain or someone generous donates one to us Also: I might be able to reduce the installer footprint by about 245 MB. Not sure, but we should be able to.

godaddy sells domains fr $1.99 a month
for $15 a month you git unlimited bandwidth and 500 Gb of storage
I have two more and a background with the "official" logo on it, but the image uploader doesn't want to work for them (2MB+ files). And since the rules won't let me upload them anywhere else, I guess nobody gets to see them

Hmm... Would it be possible to slightly bend the rules a bit? Since I can't upload the 2MB+ files to the image uploader, I have no choice but to use an external server.

Whoops. Appears I made a broken build. Apparently the .NET-in-WinPE I tried to implement doesn't work with WinPE 3. Oh well, gotta go. I'll fix that tommorrow.

I can be a tester, i'll run it on a native machine (notebook) pretty recent with the following specs: Intel T7100 Intel P965 Nvidia 8400M GS 4GB Ram
I managed to get every longhorn build running on it with graphic effects (i have gone through a hundred drivers for that graphics card until i got a working one for longhorn, but i have now )

I'll add you to my list, and Undefined will probably add you to his.
Can all the Testers, Graphics/Artisits and Developers PM me the specs of there computers/testing machines, so I can make a personalized page. It won't happen immediately though, you will have to wait a week or two until they are all finished.

Good work reclaiming it. hounsell and undefined, where is everything going to be hosted? We can get all the Domains we can to redirect to that one. se.longhorn.me.uk seems the best at the moment.
