Sure.

UPDATE: We will be using Windows PE 3.0 (based off of Windows 7) for the installer.

UPDATE: Here's a few screenshots of the new installer:
(it's not enough to release an ISO yet however as the installer is not yet functional)
The screenshot in the second to last image is a Longhorn Reloaded screenshot. I'm using that as a placeholder for the moment.

I will happily apply to be a tester! I was a bit sceptical at first, but this looks rather good!

(I may be able to help a little with tweaking/fixing if need be...)

I'd suggest you to change the screenshot in the installer. This screen was an old LHR preview screen. We used gcnaddict's dwm skin there. This picture was not meant to be shown to public but someone published it and we got emails by gcnaddict to stop using his skins for screenshots etc. So better change that screenshot before you'll also recieve that kind of mails. :wink:

I'll help test and develop the install environment, plus I know some programming.

@rayle, @Eddie, @bob_george33, @hurricanegeek921: You're all in.
@bob_george33 - finally I have another dev!
@hurricanegeek921: VB.NET + VMware ThinApp + Windows PE 3 = win. :P

EDIT: There, replaced the LHR screenshot in the screenshot 2nd from the bottom to a placeholder.

I'll probably get a little more work done on the installer when I get home from school today (ugh). Getting partitioning to work in VB.NET with a TreeView isn't as easy as you'd think ;)

I'd test and report bugs, but I don't have a copy of VMWare for MacOS X 10.4.11 (the ppc version)

@Effy: You're in :P
@User: Darn. I was going to say "use VirtualBox" but that's only for Intel Macs.

After Longhorn SE, likely I will start on a "Longhorn SE Server", however that won't be for a while.

In other news, looking at the installer screenshots, do you guys think I should keep the main installer "interface" (for example, the welcome screen, partitioning screen etc) in a separate window like it is now or should I move it to the background?

Sweet thanks.

Tell me if you need help with something. I'll use my knowledge of programming and google to help. For now, I might start creating a website for it.

Thanks for that!

(I like to think I can make Windows stand on it's head and sing the national anthem, so hopefully I can fix as well as test :P )

I made a video showing the installer in its current stage. It's still in a "buggy alpha" stage so yeah... :beta:
Sorry if the video quality is bad.

(couldn't use YouTube tags as I disabled embedding so people don't, err, "steal" it)

I'd like to help test the software too. Maybe I can even draw up some graphics for it (in MS Paint!) :P

Heh. You're in.
Funny thing is, the Windows logo above the LH 4074 wallpaper in the installer... it's just literally an image on top of another image.

I'd also like to join the team. I could do testing and helping with different other stuff. I have much experience from older longhorn projects.

The installer looks fine for the stage it's in.

I can offer a little bit of very slow backup storage

Though I would go with the M1 offer.

I am down for beta-testing this if you need more testers. I don't have FTP access yet, is that where this project is going to be hosted?

I doubt it, considering the project leader doesn't have it either yet.
