Good work reclaiming it. hounsell and undefined, where is everything going to be hosted? We can get all the Domains we can to redirect to that one. se.longhorn.me.uk seems the best at the moment.
Turned out I had it all along, the DNS Nameserver records just hadn't been created during the setup on the new host for some reason

Longhorn 08's internal Development server was 08.longhorn.me.uk, though I don't think I have all the old stuffs on it any more

@zangafan27: You're in. @hounsell: se.longhorn.me.uk would be good. @bob_george - I think we'll be moving over to hounsell's hosting. All I have to do is get a DB and file backup of the forums and restore them on the new hosting.

I was working on the Longhorn '08 Team. Tom decided to inform me about this project and I'm quite interested (I sorta lost interest in Longhorn now but I still got stuff to help). I worked as the graphics designer and resource editor at the time. If you would like some help, give me a shout.

Can I be a betatester ? I can also run lh 4074 on the real pc. Why is not any project based on build 4053 ? (or 4028). Maybe I can help with some develoment in c#.net.

Don't we all just love Longhorn?
Well, the Longhorn SE project is about doing what the Longhorn Reloaded project attempted, however doing it legally. "How can you do this legally?", you ask. Well, Longhorn SE is more of an update of Longhorn 4074 instead of a custom OS. Once you have installed Longhorn build 4074, you download the Longhorn SE Updater from our FTP server/website and run it.
The Longhorn SE Updater basically downloads updated files and replaces the old ones from your Longhorn 4074 install with new, Longhorn SE ones. This process may take approximately 10-20 minutes depending on the speed of your internet connection and the speed of your hard drive.
The Longhorn SE Updater is built using Visual Basic .NET 2010 building on the .NET Framework v2.0.50727. However, since v2.0.31113 is the version included in Longhorn, normally the updater won't run. You can't really install v2.0.50727 on Longhorn 4074 easily either. Thus, I will likely make a .NET v2.0.50727 installer for Longhorn (thank you very much for figuring out what registry keys and files I need to install VMware ThinApp!).
I'll post screenshots of an alpha version of the updater soon

@Kobi: you're in @effy11: Not really, because I changed the plans since the first post. LHSE is a full fledged LH 4074 distro now, so the setup.exe will be in the ISO that boots WinPE. Plus, the setup.exe is 250 MB, as it is packaged with VMware ThinApp to allow the .NET Framework v2.0.50727 to run. (LH 4074 has v2.0.31113)

Did you agree to my request of being a beta tester?
Yes, sorry, forgot to post @tushar_verma_333 - you're in
EDIT - LHSE will have a custom winver.exe which will show the build of Longhorn SE and the credits. The window will look something like this (just without glass window borders):
Here's the credits that were put in the program itself. If you signed up for any of the positions and your name is not here, please let me know.

(And about the timebomb, prerelease versions of Longhorn SE WILL have a 120-day timebomb. However, when we hit M1, this timebomb will be removed.)

I wil admit. At first, I was very spectical, but one thing about this project that differs from the rest is execution. You're all on top of this Undefined.
Looking great so far!

I could remove that timebomb very easily
Heh of course. I'm just putting it on so people know that when the timebomb goes off, there's probably a new build of LHSE ready anyways.
Oh and @4tified: Thanks.
EDIT: Positions are now CLOSED! I may open up to testers again, but for now, positions are closed. If you ask to become a tester, graphics designer or developer from this point on, you will be ignored! For those of you that have already applied, you're all in.
