Forum rules

Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have an own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

I know how to do that I am just asking if the a genuine oem copy that has been modified by the oem to not ask for key can be uploaded.

when windows xp becomes abandoware we will have this issue since some of the genuine oem versions don't ask for a key.

There are OEM versions that dont ask for a key? Or is the OEM key just integrated onto these CDs.

As far as uploading them to BA, im not sure if that would be allowed since it seems kind of like warez if you are using an OEM CD without a key on a non-OEM system. Besides, since 9x doesnt have to be activated online, you have unlimited use of keys. You can find them online pretty easily if you need one.

Please remember to use the subject field of your threads to represent what you will be discussing, i.e. "Is Windows 9x/Me OEM safe to upload?"

WinMe and 98 are abandonware regardless. It's already uploaded and because Winme and 98 is abandonware so you could sell it on the street probably. Do whatever you want, no one should be questioning you about abandonware. Have Fun!

Case Closed.

As far as I can tell, you don't have green in your name. Guess what happens now... nothing.

If it's unaltered OEM then you can upload it, but provide then what OEM it belongs to.

As for closing threads, only the author can ask for it. No backseat modding please (against the rules, read them).
