Thanks! Going to have a go at that tutorial some time too and see if I can personalise it a bit :)

So... I was browsing one day through my systm32 folder and I found this:

To me, it's bizarre to see a Windows 2000 file on my Windows XP SP3 Machine. Absolutely bizzare...

My old XP SP2 install (which got trashed) had a xpsp3res.dll file, with HTML source for IE6's "page cannot be displayed" page with the red diagnostics box added, and a few extra icons.

That's interesting but I think MS already said there will be no SP4, maybe it's a placeholder with tests. Have you opened it with a resource hacker and tell us the contents? Revision 6031 on the version looks interesting...

Though why is the supposed copyright icon/word an ? on product name, you better have not edited it ;)

Oh, the ? must be from my Chinese character set or something...

edit: Well, I opened it with XN Resource editor. There are 2 error dialogs, but all of them are in Chinese cuz of my system language. I'll try to translate for you.

First one:

Wordpad Converter Warning
Using Wordpad to view this file format may cause security threats. For more information please go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923561

Are you sure you want to use Wordpad to view this file?

OK | Cancel

Second one:

Windows Security Warning

This document includes content that your security settings prohibit, therefore it may not display correctly.

OK

Yeah, I have no idea what these do...

As said before.
That are only resource files for installing post-SP3 updates.

Wow. Everyone should know that the message is 100% fake. Software can't kill, especially harmless Word Processors.

So... the task who's purpose is to notify me about the tasks that are preventing the shutdown/reboot identified itself as being the culprit?

That happens to me so much when I just press shutdown with everything opened *hehe*, if I click force it'll restart the task host and go normally. :P

For me it happens after everything else has already closed - the task window disappears, I usually see a flash of desktop, then it reappears, complaining about itself (but normally goes away after a second or two).

Famous Dev 2 indexation bug. Image

27 HOURS? Nah, my friend, it's just 27 minutes. Apple got something messed up with the duration, because the indexation itself is fine.

Here's 2 of them relating to the site.

First, here's something that isn't on my end of the connection and refreshing the page did nothing. I had to go the "www.betaarchive.com" and click on the "Forum" button and it worked right:

and here's something that was on my end. The router (Netgear WNR834M) went into recovery mode on my brothers computer and changed it's IP to 10.0.0.1. It's fixed now and I have internet again:

Thats almost as bad as the Windows Task Manager (Not Responding) when I had Vista.
