No doubt to discourage the casual user from attempting to connect. Or just an attempt at being humourous.

Yes it is.

Hmmmm, maybe I should put some odd name too. :D But really, I think the best thing that I should do is just disable SSID broadcasting.

The picture is just odd. The close/minimize/maximize buttons are wrong, desktop icons say folder. Seriously, folder?
Judging by the discrepency in the Minimize, Maximize/Restore, and Close buttons, it would seem to me that there was something wrong with the fonts, since apart from the wrong names on the desktop, the only problems I see are with the fonts, and not with anything else.

Also, the new "Chicago Shell" contained within Build 854 (a build of what later became Windows NT 4.0) from what I see, was the same way; due to its own flaws (mostly, I think, from being ported directly from Windows 95 to the Windows NT 3.5x codebase), it also had a similar discrepency in the Minimize, Maximize/Restore, and Close buttons.

the Min/Max/Close buttons are just done using the Marlett font anyway - just type 0 1 r in that font and see for yourself. If for whatever reason the buttons were displayed in a different font, they would appear as 0 1 r.

Marlett doesn't even exist in Windows 7...

It probably uses built in images for them. You can change the colors of the close buttons and such with WindowBlinds and the symbols will still be there.

You can get Marlett in Windows 7 using this method.

Microsoft's site wrote:
The Marlett TrueType font is used for displaying scroll bar arrows, Maximize and Minimize buttons, option buttons, check boxes, and other controls in Windows 95. The font is explicitly loaded by the GDI at startup. Windows 95 performance is enhanced by using a TrueType font instead of bitmaps for controls.

The Marlett.ttf file is located in the Fonts folder with other TrueType fonts. The file is hidden, but the font is visible in programs' Font menus.

If the Marlett.ttf file is damaged or missing, numbers or garbled characters appear in place of controls.

If you need to replace the Marlett.ttf file, extract it to the Windows\Fonts folder. Set the file's Hidden and System attributes.

The Marlett.ttf file is located in the Win95_06.cab cabinet file on disk 6 if you are using Windows 95 disks, or in the Win95_05.cab cabinet file if you are using the Windows 95 CD-ROM. After you extract the file to the Windows\Fonts folder, set its attributes by typing the following line at a command prompt:
attrib +s +h c:\windows\fonts\marlett.ttf
For information about using the Extract tool, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
129605 How to Extract Original Compressed Windows Files
If after replacing the Marlett.ttf file numbers or garbled characters still appear in place of controls, try deleting the Ttfcache file in the Windows folder. This file is rebuilt automatically when you restart the computer. Problems with the Marlett.ttf file can also be caused by exceeding, or approaching, the approximate limitation of 1000 fonts.

If this does not work, verify that the Hidden attribute is set for the Marlett.ttf font file. To do so, follow these steps.

In My Computer or Windows Explorer, right-click the Marlett.ttf file in the Windows\Fonts folder, and then click Properties.
Click the Hidden check box to select it, and then click OK.

For additional information about the font limits in Windows 95, see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
131943 TrueType Font Limits in Windows 95

Marlett font gone, instead uses VGASYS.FON on caption buttons.
I saw a similar video called "26 MB Windows XP using a batch file".
Probably he used a batch file on Win2K.

(yes my OS X hard drive is named after the blue jay from Regular Show)

And no, I didn't change SystemVersion.plist, I reinstalled OS X because I screwed Safari up.

Also OS X thinks my iPod is a computer: (Fixed by installing 10.6.7)

Considering it only took 30 minutes to upload the video - which was already in WebM format,
this seems a bit long.

Look at the automated caption.
Now look at Rarity's face. *hehe*
(Again, sorry non-bronies/MLP haters. I know I'm not a brony myself but this was too good...)

Also I had upgraded the RAM of my PC and cleaned it, this was what Mac OS X reported.

The devil is powering my RAM :P

I ran XP on the same computer after upgrading the hard drive (You know that Packard Bell that was broke? I pinpointed it to a power supply problem, as I have the RAM and hard drive from that PC on my old one.)

I also cleaned the CPU fan, and this was what Core Temp reported:

Image

My CPU runs hotter than the Sun? I went into the BIOS and it reported 50°C, so I'm fine.
