Excuse me the dumb question, but Black Mesa is referring to the Half Life Modification? Which areas (i.e. Maps) are present in this alpha?

This WAS from back in 2008 anyways, but yeah, its kind of sad, I guess just wait until you get access to the FTP.

Yes, referring to the mod for Half Life 2. If I remember, it contains and early version of the area where you first encounter an electrical hazard.

Anyways, this is a very old thread, kind of odd to bring it up again, especially considering that the download link I provided was from Megaupload, as that site is now defunct.
