Rejoice!, today comes a very special release. In 2005 Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment was commissioned to produce an MMO based on the Stargate Sg-1 and Stargate Atlantis series. The development went well and the game even reached a closed beta state....Unfortunately, thats the only pace it got, as the game was tragically cancelled due to the bankruptcy of Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment and the loss of the Stargate license.
Luckily, thanks to is2b007 we have finally acquired a copy! It has been uploaded to the FTP.
Stargate Worlds runs on Unreal 3 using the Bigworld server architecture. It is my distinct hope that we can find a way to emulate the original server one day and have at least a somewhat enjoyable experience out of what was going to be a true jewel of gaming.
Mirrors may be provided later...For now, it is awaiting validation on the FTP. This is build 0.8294 0.43485. Another build is currently held by Borman, that build is: 0.8299 0.47977. Here are a few videos of the build we have:

Hello, I have google news alerts set-up to email me any news about Stargate and this thread came up in the news. I was one of the friends & family/alpha and one of the closed beta testers for SGW, and although it had some bugs - as could be expected from the beta stage - it was quite enjoyable.
I still have Stargate Worlds on the computer, though I haven't tried loading it since they shut down their servers. I figured it would require access to a server, unless someone somehow got into the code and opened it up. In any case, I'd like to test the version that is on this site's FTP, though when I clicked on the FTP link at the top of the page it didn't connect me (after registering and logging in to this message board). How do I access the download?

You also won't have any luck with this version, since the official update and game servers are long gone, and there isn't any server emulator out there

Actually Dhel is incorrect, about the emulator part. I cannot say more at this stage, but...If you have caches from the original game I'd VERY like to hear from you. Also, what is the build number of your Stargate Worlds?

I see there haven't been any updates to this thread in a while, does anyone know if anyone is working on an EMU for this game? i missed the beta, but I'm a major SG fan. Hard to believe there are 17 seasons of stargate out there, plus 2 movies (and an animated series not worth watching), and not 1 successful game!

Well, actually there are three movies out there but who's counting .
I doubt there are any emulators in development for this game, it's hard enough to make one when the game is active (packet snooping etc), but even harder when there are no active servers to listen in to, and nothing but an unfinished client. It would be great with an emulator tho but considering the few that actually tried this game...
