Over-write your minecraft.jar in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin to use it.

I thought they're still testing 1.8 not that i care except i know a few gamers who like talking about game betas instead of OS and App Bets O.o

It most likely wont, Minecraft is a very resource and memory intensive game and barely runs here (40-60fps) on this PC (specs in sig) :/

Nice. Makes me wonder though, why are they pushing out so many new versions? Are they getting close to release?

I assume they get to the release version with 2.0 so probably they want to makeone big update with 1.9-2.0 thats why they do a hush hush 1.9 release (just assuming this though, probably I'm horribly wrong, lol)

It just would be a nice round version number for a release thats why I think so. But probably there is already a source where this is clearly stated, I'm just to lazy to search now.

Yeah, you are right, don't assume. It has been stated recently that there there is a strong feeling towards a 1.10 version planned after 1.9 is finished and that the final release will be 2.0 but that it is still subject to change.
