I know I'm a very infrequent poster, but after seeing the recent spam problems just thought I'd put this bit of feedback down. Just because people don't post doesn't mean they come along to read the forums. I know a lot don't, but I'm one of those who do.
I personally think BA is a very friendly place as it is, and I feel comfortable if I have a question that I'd get a sensible answer and no stupid smacktalk reply that you'd get on alot of other forums. I regard BA as being quite a special place for me, as it effectively persuaded me to get an iPhone 3G when they were released, my first Apple product. Couldn't have been any happier with that decision, and here we are over 2 years later with an iPhone 4 docked on my desk. I was seriously anti-apple before this (for no reason), but now if I had the money I'd have an imac on my desk. It was the friendly response which led me to ask more questions and generally lead to a better understanding. Although I no longer follow betas personally (need my computer running and running a spare is too much hastle in my small room) it's nice to see reviews and screenshots of them when a major beta is being undertaken, without feeling you're a reject of some elitist group.
Whatever Andy and Mrpijey are doing, they're doing it right. I don't know if they already know this, but their efforts are appreciated - and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I've noticed in some other non-beta related boards that the people can quite well be... jackasses to each other, but here, we get the flare us between a few people every once in a while, but we never get anything on the scale of some of these other sites
