True.
But look at their profiles, never logged in again since 2008, and the password has been changed, SSL is implemented and such. So they really left.
EDIT: I still stand for that EVERYONE who is leaving or coming back, DO NOT post it, it will only anger / irritate other members here and just messing up the forums where it is in and people try to bump their post count.

I went on a week's break for about a week.. that's not grammatically right.. anyway. I didn't announce it, I just went for a week. No problems. No-one was too fussed, and so on.
There isn't going to be a centralised Leaving thread, because there's no point to announce it in the first place! It's just unneccessary. Just leave, and come back, post a bit and we'll notice you! Not hard

Yeah exactly the less people dramatise stuff the better the forums will be and the less claims there will be about flaming on top of that the people doing it will look less nooby.

And under which category of the Report function do this kind of threads go? They're not warez, and labeling them as Spam or Off-topic would be very vague. They could be reported as "Other", but that's also very non-specific for this kind of stuff.
I've wanted to report many posts like those threads or general rudeness towards other posters, but those kind of messages don't fill any of the mentioned criterias for reporting.

If it's in need of reporting, but it doesn't fit the requirements listed, just bung it in other.
In real fact the category makes little to none difference. They all come up, and they all have to be closed/taken action. The groups are the default phpbb3 ones.

Please report any "I'm leaving" threads that appear so they do not have a chance to scare people.
I don't really believe they scare people, but its annoying that this kind of threads exist (for example viewtopic.php?f=54&t=11560 . Nothing against you Gmod1001, but this serves as an example). Was a thread like that really necessary? If someone decides to leave -and its not because someone attacked him, but for mere personal reasons (too much work, computer broke, decided to have a hobby, tired of the forum- that's their own decision. Why make it public? Why bother others with your decisions? It's like making a daily thread about if you had cereal or toast for breakfast: it was your decision, you took it, no one else but you really cares.
