It's the QuickSilver model. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. Anyone got any ideas on what to use it for, and how will I hack leopard to run on it. And lastly will the early pre-betas of OS X work on it

If you mean the developer previews no they wont. I had almost the same machine (different processor and such), which was originally a sawtooth that i switched the logic board out of to use AGP, afterthat I couldn't get them to install so Itend to doubt it will work.
On the other hand you can probably run betas of panther, tiger, etc. But having tried, the DPs, the beta, and Rhapsody wont work.

I never tried the leopard betas but in the tiger beta, it was kinda cool that when you clicked the menu bar, the menu would turn aqua like the scroll bar, it wasn't done in the server build, and it didnt make the final, but it was nifty.
i think the build number was 8A323.
To run the leopard betas you will probably need Xpostfacto, because as mentioned earlier your processor isn't fast enough

Have you installed the latest Flash Player (10)? That one is significantly faster than previous releases, although the Mac OS version of Flash is a lot less optimised than the Windows version and so does tend to perform relatively poorly.
