How can i wifi on this laptop enabled? here is installed kexts

Take a look on the bottom of the laptop, Acer generally leave stickers on the bottom stating the brand and model of the wireless adapter.
If not, it may be in the BIOS setup (look around, see what you find).

else, simply check online and see what kind of wi-fi card you have in your notebook and from that, with the help of google, discover the chipset...

Thats a computer chipset, not your wifi chipset.

Typically only really broadcom based wifi cards have worked in the past. Ralink, Intel and others have limited success, if any.

A mini pcie card that does work is a dell 1490 (as that's what I ended up using). It's old though, so I don't know the modern equivalent.

What do you mean by Acer 5635G (Mac OS X 10.6.6)? Do you put Mac OS X on Acer?

If you don't mind voiding your warranty you could try replacing the Wifi adapter to a Broadcom based one.


What doesn't he mean? It's obvious he's looking for kexts for a certain device for OSX86.

This wireless card don't work on Mac OS X,because don't have driver for your wireless card.

Personally I used this soltion and took a broadcom card out of a dead laptop and now works wonerfully

May I remind the members (and especially the original poster in this thread) that BA doesn't support "Hackintoshes", there are other forums far better suited for these topics so if you need any help with kexts and hardware you should look there instead.
