There is NO WAY to run Mac on computers with AMD processors! Mac is developed to run on Mac computers with INTEL proccessors.

Tell that to my AMD hackintosh computer next to me, don't make claims about things you haven't researched.

Unfortunately there has not been enough time to hack the latest release to work with AMD processors, but it is only a matter of time. Until then you would be best to use Snow Leopard.

I understand there definately hasn't been enough time, but what is known about running Snow Leopard, might be applied somewhat to installing Lion (even though much is changed about Lion) on a pc with an AMD processor. Atleast for my computer, the only version of Mac OS X I've succesfully installed was Leopard. Snow Leopard should be able to run but whenever I put the disc in it doesn't detect in the boot menu.

LOL what are the specs?

It's a Dell Studio XPS 7100. The processor is an "AMD Phenom(tm) X6 1035T Processor, 2600 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 6 Logical Processors". The graphics card is an "ATI Radeon HD 5450 (1 GB)". The computer has 8gb of DDR3 memory. The network adapter is "Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet". I can give more information if it is needed.

I mean zamadatix's...

I was just remembered something, what about the recovery HD that Lion makes? It's another partition on the hard drive, which might mean dual booting with a version of Windows might be harder than I thought. For my computer, it seems it has a limit of how many partitions you can have.

Someone doesn't know what their talking about....

Back to the original question, as of right now, the latest version you can run on AMD's is 10.6.8 (that's what I run). The reason Lion doesn't work yet is because there is no custom kernel available for it that will allow it to boot up under an AMD CPU. If you have Intel, you can run Lion but if not, you're stuck with 10.6.8.

There's quite a few patches for AMD processors that as far as I'm aware are implemented in to most distributions.

Haven't dabbled with OSX86 in ages. Was it Marvin's AMD tools? Or am I thinking of something else?

Again, those don't work in Lion for reasons such as bootloaders and kernels.

I installed iATKOS which was 10.6 I believe. I then installed the 10.6.7 Combo Update and then before I restarted, I installed 2 kexts (IOUSB something). I then installed the custom kernel for AMD processors. If you go on InsanelyMac, I made a thread asking for help and they told me everything I should do.
