Can PearPC run old OSX smoothly?

It can run it, but not smoothly.

I found these old DR 1 and DR3 on the net and tried it on pearpc, but pearpc cannot boot from it. After trying this boot disks on a PowerMac G3 bw i saw why. There is OS 8.6 and OS 9 as booting OS. You load OS 8.6/OS 9 and than install the DR. Pearpc can't handle this way, i think

As far as I know DR2 could be directly installed on x86 PCs, do not need a PPC-based computer.

I think he's referring to the Mac OS DPs.

OpenStep was the API, OPENSTEP was it's implementation.

There was something similar called Mac-On-Mac that was running under 10.3, it didn't work with anything after that.
I was able to install 10.0.4, 10.1 and 10.2 on it and it worked great for looking around the OS!
I might have some screenshots saved somewhere in my old HDDs...

why dont apple move from the environment they created and make Mac OSX universal ?? This will make apple one of the best OS nd will make MS run for their money....also game development on OSX platform will attain high speeds !!

I kind of want to try out 10.7. I used a hackintosh for a while, but Missed all of my windows programs/Games that don't have mac versions.

I really would like them to do that also... But then who'll buy teh expensive apple computers ?

I believe that the company makes most of its revenue from the hardware. If they were to sell the OS as an installable on any platform they would tick people off and alienate their customer/fan base.

It is very interesting how pearpc only runs version 10.1 and up and how apple doesn't do as much public betas as microsoft.

I do believe Apple should release OS X for the PC community. Look at how many Hackintosh instructions are out there. Maybe a "lock down" install of the OS?

Please update this to include Mac OS X 10.7 "Lion," the first version to be available via the Mac App Store for Snow Leopard, or a flash drive (later this month) intended for Leopard Macs.

AFAIK, yes, Cheetah is PowerPC.

There's WINE for Intel Macs, and Darwine for PowerPC Macs.

Thanks for posting it. But when ever i want to install hackintosh, it always says "still waiting for root device" I guess it is impossible to get hackintosh on my laptop.
btw, my laptop is a Hp pavilion g6, with AMD A6 Quadcore processor, 6 gb of ram, AMD Radeon HD 6520g graphic card

If they actually manage to do that, then microsoft would be [censored]
