I can only get b&w desktop patterns in Basilisk with OS 7.5.3 r2 on Windows. Basilisk on my iBook doesn't do this. Why is it doing this?

It might be because you selected "title" for the background options.

Try fixing it.

Er, actually, you might want to think about this. Maybe the Windows version is limited, so it only displays B&W; while the Macintosh version supports color.

Sorry for self-replying...

That's really odd.
Also, I cant get Décor to work either, witch again works on my iBook. (it allows OS 7 to use JPEGs as background images)

If you're running 7.5.3 using Basilisk II on a Windows PeeCee, the image you posted clearly shows you only have 38 possible Desktop Patterns to choose from, and they might all be black and white patterns. But since you don't have that problem on your iBook, and you have more patterns to choose from, then that clearly indiates you should add more Desktop Patterns to your installations of 7.5.3.

So if you copy the Desktop Patterns file(s) from your iBook to the PeeCee, then you should be able to use them there, and not be limited to black & white patterns.

Decor problem solved.

Also, I though I told it to install the patterns when I updated it to System 7.5.3 and again to 7.5.5. I'll check it out anyways.
Also, why are you calling PCs "PeeCees"?
