I'm cool with that . So what I wonder is (at the moment), who would benefit from sending these bull emails?

go see
alpc.no-ip.org
That and James, OSBG is much smaller a community than BA, in all the time I've been a member, there is almost no activity. It seems as thought the chatroom is the most lively part.

Its actually alpc.no-ip.biz is for everything other than web. alpc-web.no-ip.biz is for web. The web is under construction. alpc-forum.no-ip.biz is what youre talking about. And ALPC is not a 2-bit community, it runs on premium servers, probably better than what BA runs. We run a Core 2 Duo and 4GB of RAM + 2.25 TB of HD Space. At least most of our posts are not in the Spam/Trash section.

Err, lol. BA runs on a Core2Quad Q6700 with 4GB RAM and a 1TB HD and 100Mbps connection. If it runs on such "premium servers", explain why it is down so often.

I need to buy a Xeon server.
I gradually replace my servers every 2 years. I just make a few small part changes every few weeks/days and eventually, all the old parts become swapped out.

Yeah OK... You realise a Xeon is not that much faster than a Core2 CPU of a much lower price don't you... It makes me laugh when people needlessly waste their money on hardware that poses no useful increase in performance for the extra cost.

The only advantage of a Xeon over a C2Q is the scalability if you run more than one processor (unit). But that is only needed if you run heavy databases that needs a very high TPS, not a "2 bit" forum that has less members than my local WoW server... and even if you go multi-unit processing an AMD Opteron would be a much cheaper and faster choice. Once your forum get enough members and traffic you can of course expand, but BA just recently upgraded its server, and we sure got a lot more activity and traffic (including FTP) than your site has. And BA wasn't even slow before the upgrade...
As I've told many before (even Andy at some time I think, ban me if you disagree Andy ), Need goes before Greed. Build your server for what you need it for and expand when needed, don't build it to use it as an epeen extender, because no one is really impressed...

I guess its a disput about our theory... I think you should plan for the future, not plan for the present. Once your server slows to a crawl, its already too late.

Hi um, I've been on BetaArchive two years, seen "waves" of "kids" come through and even been banned once myself. Just wanting to inform you as a concerned member of the community to not bad mouth BetaArchive, its users and administrators if you want to stay here?

Look, The fourm has a somewhat similar design to BA and I didn't want mrpijey and Andy to get mad. Which is why I did not want them to visit my site. I would appreciate it if you removed that screenshot. So I'm 13 and I make a mistake, big deal. I was not intentionally or intentionally bad mouthing BETAArchive. And if you think that's what I'm trying to do, take a hike.

YES you can remove it by editing your post! Just remove the BBCode link to it!
Happy Dude, no one needs to see that screenshot, and since you did not listen to my request, you are the bad guy. YOU came to this topic to hurt MY small febble reputation which was worthless and meant nothing, and now, you have made it so that it will haunt me for the rest of my membership here at BETAArchive. I can be mature but you need to be as well. who knows? I may be the next one to get banned because of YOU! Now I'm the ass because of you, I was simply unsure if an Admin would appreciate it if they saw a similar design to their board, and since you had to post a screenshot, EVERYONE knows. Enjoy having no friends. How would you like it if I saw you playing video games at your job and reported you with a photograph? huh? and got you fired and on the street, living in a cardboard box?

Happy Dude seems like the sort of person who'd be doing his job at his job.
And I very much doubt Andy would ban you for such irrelevant reasons. I'm sure the fact he's banned on some minor forum that might as well not exist for lack of content troubles him deeply at night. He'll no doubt cry himself to sleep over the fact.
On the other hand, the borderline flaming in this topic is much more likely to result in bans, so I suggest it stops now.

You can't say that when they are obviously not... That's like me owning a farrari and you owning a mini cooper, me winning a race and you saying lets say they're equal...
Now to the topic at hand. I won't lose sleep having being banned on some small forum I've never even heard of, but bad mouthing BA isn't going to do you any favours either, and neither is flaming. Your attitude towards other members is also concerning. Happy dude simply posted the screen shot in concern for other BA members and for myself to see. Because of it you make him a foe? You said yourself you can be mature when you want to be, so why don't you? I don't even understand why I am banned on some forum I've never heard of. Perhaps I should ban you here to? Don't tempt me, because I have before, and I will again. It honestly doesn't bother me, you would just be one less annoying teenager to worry about.
So how about this, Happy dude, don't grass up on people in public. I doubt you'd like it done to you. User99672, grow up. You might be 13 but you're acting 8, and doing so isn't doing you any favours.
